No.1817  Private George Henry Bedson
War Service
George originally tried to enlist on 19 February 1916, As he was under the age of 21, his enlistment papers were required to be signed by both his parents.  His father was unable to sign due to being "...in mental hospital".  It is unclear from the record as to why his enlistment did not proceed.

George enlisted again on 5 June 1916 in Melbourne.

Following initial training in Geelong and Seymour, George proceeded to England per troopship, A32 Themestocles on 28 July 1916 before travelling to France.

Following active service, he departed England on 20 May 1919 aboard the troopship, Nestor.

He received his discharge on 31 October 1919.

His name is recorded on the RSL Honor Board as Bidson, G.
