Davey, , Spotswood
The Werribee Shire area covered a vast area in 1915-1920 and there are names on the honor board from Werribee, Tarneit, Truganina, Little River, Mount Cottrell, Metropolitan Farm, West Footscray, Melton, Williamstown, Laverton, Newport, Bacchus Marsh and Spotswood.
Whilst this name and initial appears in the Werribee Shire Banner's Roll of Honor and on the RSL Honor Board, no soldier could be found with the surname of Davey who had any link to Werribee.
"Davey, - from Spotswood" first appeared in the Roll of Honor, Werribee Shire Banner, 13 February 1919, p.3 which was after the war had ended.
A G. Davey of Newport enlisted on 19 July 1915 and was discharged as medically unfit on 5 September 1919. A newspaper article listed a G. Davey as being on Active Service or in Training in Footscray Chronicle, 21 August 1915, p.4.
