Henry Joseph Delaney (1891-1917)
Studio portrait of 5671 Private (Pte) Henry Joseph Delaney, 7th Battalion. A grocer from Werribee, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Delaney embarked with the 18th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Ayrshire on 3 July 1916. On 27 April 1917 he was killed in action on the Somme, aged 26, and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. This is one of a series of photographs taken by the Darge Photographic Company which had the concession to take photographs at the Broadmeadows and Seymour army camps during the First World War. In the 1930s, the Australian War Memorial purchased the original glass negatives from Algernon Darge, along with the photographers' notebooks. The notebooks contain brief details, usually a surname or unit name, for each negative.

George Beamish Swanton (1882-1916)
Studio portrait of 1159 Private (Pte) George Beamish Swanton, Australian 24th Battalion, of Werribee, Victoria, with his wife Nellie and young baby, Joan Helen.
Pte Swanton enlisted on 28 April 1915 and embarked on board HMAT Euripides on 8 May 1915. He died of wounds on 28 July 1916 at Pozieres, France.
Pte Swanton had two brothers who were also killed in action:
No.222 Pte John (Jack) Swanton, 2nd Battalion, enlisted on 27 August 1914 and was killed in action at Gallipoli Peninsula on 2 May 1915;
and
No.2760 Pte Henry Swanton, 29th Battalion, enlisted on 5 March 1916 and was killed in action at Pozieres, France on 2 November 1916.

Frank O'Neill and greyhound
Frank O'Neill and one of his greyhounds on his pig farming property located on Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing. The picture was taken not long before 1969 as all of his greyhounds were killed in the 1969 bushfires. The property was severly damaged by the bushfires. Only the house remained. -
