Charlie Buttigieg is a resident of Tarneit and has lived there for almost 30 years. He is a Horticulturalist and Heritage Tree Researcher.
For over 10 years, Charlie has researched and nominated trees of significance to the National Trust of Victoria Significant Tree Register. Between 2010-2012 he revised all tree registrations from the City of Wyndham represented on the National Trust of Victoria Significant Tree Register. Charlie nominated more significant trees and doubled the number of registered significant trees from Werribee Park.
In 2012, his attention focused on the State of South Australia. Within two years he registered 621 tree specimens from the famous pastoral property Anlaby. The heritage tree collection at Anlaby is now the largest collection of National Trust registered trees in private ownership in Australia. Charlie has published articles on heritage trees and his work at state, national and international levels.
